Many of our clients are Recreational Vehicle Park Owners and realize the added value of providing Wireless Internet and Long Range WIFI Access to their guests. CellAmericas offers the right equipment at the right price and provides our customers with outstanding support through the installation and deployment process. Whether you want complete park coverage or just a smaller area, we have products for each situation.
The first step in the process is to have Broadband internet access to the RV park. This can be obtained from the local phone company, cable company or via satellite (a company such as Hughes or WildBlue). Once this is obtained, the second step is to help us do a Virtual Site Plan and tell us the size of the park (acreage), the layout (square or other), the location of the broadband service at the park (one side or in the middle) and the typical type of foliage (heavily wooded, sparse trees, etc.)
After we have all this information, we can assist you in the selection of the right type of equipment which will include the Access Point (amplifier) with enough power to deliver the signal to your guests and the proper type of antenna (either directional or omni directional).
Most RV Park owners prefer to offer the service to their guest at no charge and get some great advertising as a "WI FI enabled park and work out any problem areas, however if the service is going to be a revenue stream, they can purchase our Network Access Manager, or Hot
Spot in a Box that will let you automatically generate Username and Passwords, select the amount to charge and the timeframe such as by day, week, month and even
amount of bandwidth for each guest - or Load Balancing.
Wi Fi service is bi-directional, and even though your park may provide the signal to the farthest corner of the park, it is possible that your guest is unable to communicate back to the Access Point (similar to a conversation across a lake where one person is using an amplified voice by a PA system and the other
person is yelling back - one can be heard but not the other). For this, many owners have purchased a
Client Device which will extend the typical laptop range from about 1,000 feet to as much as 2 miles, and rented the unit to the guest during their stay, or an 802.11b PCMCIA Card
for their guests to improve their laptop reception range.
